NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the planet by quite a few of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the detrimental comments from others destroy his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

Phil began playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
