Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve final game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found playing web poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
