Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest bettors anywhere in the world. While wagering on online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
