When will You Going to Understand that Hold em Poker is All About Position!

I’ve been playing poker now for about five years, I’ve played cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head game. I used to usually win, whatever game we were wagering and although I liked to call it skill, it was incredibly difficult to justify thinking about the randomness of the games we were betting, so I was over joyed to accept I was having a long run of luck.

Then came Poker, or more importantly Holdem Poker, made famous by a group of Texas card players in the 1960’s and since developed into one of the largest card phenomena ever seen. Poker is absolutely the new black, it can be super awesome with many of the world’s leading celebrities racing to have their name associated with it. Just a quick scan via the TV channels these days and it is possible to not escape from poker, and needless to say there is the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for each individual player.

So with all of this new found popularity, with so numerous Television programmes devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with quality material written by the top minds on poker, when are individuals going to understand that this casino game is all about position!?

Perhaps I should not have so worked up about this, after all the additional men and women who wrestle with the subtle techniques and approaches needed for succeeding regularly at Holdem, the much better it truly is for everyone else, appropriate? I mean, if they can not be bothered to look at all of the readily available info about why position is so significant, why really should we bother? We ought to just be glad there’s one more fish at the table!

It’s true, we need to not reward idleness with advice and assist. Nevertheless, I liken this to a helpful game of football. Naturally the stakes are not so great, but when you see a player struggling, you guide them, provide them some advice, ultimately showing them a method to enjoy, like and be grateful for the game as much as you. I am asking all home players to do exactly the same thing with their poker friends who haven’t quite got a handle on the subtleties of betting position. Support them to grow their respect for the casino game. Certainly, don’t attempt to try this one in your community casino, the sharks will not appreciate you instructing their lunch how to swim!
